28 November 2009

Hi! I'm back from Turkey already. I finished 74th out of 138 in my category. It's not that good but it's better than nothing. My next chess tournament will be on the 5th of December. That will be SUKPEN. Can yo believe it ?! It's my birthday and I am still forced to participate in the tournament. Ah well. I got to go now. BYE!

16 November 2009

Hi. I just want to tell you that I am too lazy to update my blog on the results of World Youth Chess Championship 2009. However, one of the parents is the official blogger for the Malaysian contingent. His blog is http://maswycc09.blogspot.com . He has plenty of photos and updates his blog frequently. Tomorrow, we are going for a tour to an ancient, sunken city. I am very excited.

9 November 2009

Today, I went to school and returned my books. I had to do that since I would no longer be attending school for the rest of this year. Tomorrrow, I will be going to Turkey. The flight should take about 12-14 hours. I heard that they have video games and movies on board the flight. At least I won't be so bored. I am really excited about going to Turkey. I haven't travelled so far since I was only 8 years old. I went to Europe that year.

8 November 2009

Hi, today PCA ( Penang Ches Association ) organised a rapid tournament which was held in Northam Food Court. I did not participate in it but a few familiar players from Penang Free School namely the 2009 National Master Evan Timothy Capel, Kyle Chan Wei Ren and Cheah Wen Chong participated in the event. All of them won prizes in the U-15 boys category. Also participating were my two younger brothers, William Lee Kah Howe and Benjamin Lee Kah Teng. They won second in the U-15 boys category and the U-12 boys category respectively. I have taken two pictures of the tournament but I don't think they are that clear. Well, that's all for today.

Midnight Mist (2)

I slumped back into my bed. The cold tinge of the night was still around me. And it wasn't just that. With each passing night and dream, my heart felt emptier and emptier. Being away from home didn't help much. There was never any signal or internet connection to contact my family. But, alas! What could I do? Nothing! Nothing at all. I felt so helpless. I forced myself to think of some good memories to fall asleep. But the more I thought, the worse I felt, cold and lonely.....

" Ariel! Ariel! Wake up! You're late or breakfast! " said a voice beside me. I opened my eyes and saw Betty my roommate. She had yellow hair and was thin. A real dandy I would call her. Always wearing jewellery, high-end shoes, not to mention clothes. Stuck with me on this camp, she had no choice but to abandon her luxuries at home. The camp was at a remote island. " But it's only 6.00. Can't I get 5 more minutes?" I protested. " Ariel! Enough is enough!" she continued. " Alright, alright! " I said. " You old kill-joy!". I got up and rushed to get ready. Then, Betty and I left for the mess hall.

To be continued.....

7 November 2009

Hi. There's nothing much that's going on today, so nothing much to post. For those of you who are interested in the coming World Youth results, I will try to cover the event but I can only manage us Malaysians, I think. But, I will try my best. I will also get some pictures of the venue and the players and hopefully, some of the sights in Turkey.

Midnight Mist (1)

The following is just a horror story I got from somewhere and thought I'd share with you:

I woke up, drenched in sweat. It was 3.00 in the morning. I could hear nothing except the slow, constant ticking of my clock. I had the same dream again. It was always the same! Me, in a dark, cold place. Voices all around me, soft but pleading. And it always ended the same way too. A cold hand, reaching out and gripping me hard, pulling me back into the dark.

To be continued......

If you want to find out what happened in the story, keep checking my blog!

6 November 2009

Today, there are only a few more days to the World Youth Chess Championship. I am still preparing very hard for it. It looks like it is going to be very cold there. But, still no snow. I thik that their winter comes in the beginning of the year, that is in the month of January.
Well, that's all for today, I guess. Bye for now.

Poems on Plants

The first secret to grow a plant,
is to make sure it dosn't slant,
You'll ned some soil and some seeds,
Please don't mistake them for beads!

Choose a plot with a lot of soil,
Don't use seeds that have been boiled,
Remember to water them well,
So that they may swell.

Make sure your plant gets sunlight,
Not too dark, not too bright,
If you don't, your plant may die,
Then, to it you shall say goodbye.

5 November 2009
